How it all began…
My journey in wellness began years ago as I watched my grandmother die from diabetes over a ten-year period while my mother took care of her.
My only real memory of her is sitting in a blue wheelchair with white bandaged stumps where her legs used to be, all from the side effects of diabetes.
Then I watched my mom diet endlessly to lose the weight and avoid the same fate, yet no matter what she tried, Atkins (aka keto today) counting points, cabbage soup diet still she found herself heading down the same path. We’d give up all our favorite foods and still have nothing to show for it- so why bother?
“But you don’t understand honey, we’re Italian. It’s what we do, we eat!” – My mom
I’ll never forget hearing my mom sob those words in total frustration… She’d lose 10 pounds and gain back 12, over and over again until eventually it didn’t matter what she did the weight wouldn’t come off or stay off. Maybe you can relate…?
I remember thinking there has to be something we can do… So I went to work researching and discovered what it really takes to lose weight and keep it off.
That’s essentially what I’ve spent my life doing… Empowering people to become and stay healthy for a lifetime.
I take a commonsense approach, it’s all about healing the body internally.
Using this approach I’ve seen people reverse type two diabetes, lower blood pressure and cholesterol, heal digestive issues, re-balance hormones, and ramp up their metabolism to burn fat again to name a few…”
